I’ve been hearing a lot about the rocky mountain news recently and other businesses who have gone under because of the internet or the economy. And I started wondering why.
Why couldn’t they adapt to the changing environment. The internet has been around for a while and people have been crying the death knell of print media for years. The economy didn’t go bad overnight. A newspaper has teams of smart people who’s sole job is to keep up with how the world is changing as well as a bunch of people who are in the advertising business trying to understand how and why people buy and how to get them to spend more.
So what happened?
I don’t know but I do appreciate getting hit in the face now.
Because if I fail to move, adjust and reposition constantly then I get hit in the face. A nice friendly reminder that I should never stop moving, changing, adapting, growing, learning, ect.
So for the next week or so, (or until I get distracted by something else) I’ll be working on constant motion. And I’ll be working to make sure that every time I block or evade I’m attacking or countering at the same time. Because If I block and then counter, or evade and then attack, it’s going to take way to long.
And even though I appreciate it more I’d really rather not get hit in the face.
